All Seven Province Chiefs Meet for Historic Federalism Summit

The chief ministers of all seven provinces gathered in Chitwan for a two-day summit on federalism and inter-provincial cooperation. This marks the first time all province leaders have met simultaneously since the federal system was established.

Key topics included revenue-sharing mechanisms, coordination of infrastructure projects spanning multiple provinces, and the need for clearer delineation of federal and provincial responsibilities.

Several chief ministers expressed frustration over delayed fund transfers from the federal government, which they said hampered development projects. A joint communiqué calling for fiscal autonomy reforms is expected.

Political analysts see the summit as a positive step toward strengthening the federal system, noting that inter-provincial dialogue is essential for addressing regional disparities.
