Three International Airlines to Begin Direct Flights from Pokhara Airport

Three major international airlines announced they will begin direct flights to Pokhara International Airport starting next month. IndiGo will operate daily flights from Delhi, Thai AirAsia from Bangkok, and AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur.

The announcement is a major boost for Nepal's tourism industry, particularly for the Annapurna region which attracts hundreds of thousands of trekkers annually. Previously, international visitors had to transit through Kathmandu.

Tourism entrepreneurs in Pokhara have invested heavily in new hotels and infrastructure in anticipation of increased arrivals. The local chamber of commerce projects a 40 percent increase in tourist visits within the first year.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal confirmed that the airport is fully operational with all necessary safety certifications. Ground handling and customs facilities have been upgraded to international standards.
