Nepal Sends Largest-Ever Contingent to Prepare for Summer Olympics

Nepal Olympic Committee announced that fifteen athletes across seven disciplines will represent the country at the upcoming Summer Olympics, the largest contingent Nepal has ever sent. Athletes will compete in athletics, swimming, judo, taekwondo, shooting, archery, and marathon.

The committee has arranged international training camps for all athletes, with sprinter Saraswati Chaudhary and marathon runner Pushpa Bhandari training at high-altitude facilities in Kenya. Shooter Kalpana Pariyar is preparing at a world-class facility in South Korea.

The government allocated 300 million rupees for Olympic preparation, triple the budget of the previous Games cycle. Athletes are receiving monthly stipends, sports science support, and access to international coaching expertise.

While medal expectations remain modest, officials hope the increased investment will help Nepal's athletes achieve personal bests and lay the groundwork for future Olympic success.
